Tim found his love of cooking while working at Michael’s Restaurant in Santa Monica. During his eight years there he worked with many of America’s great young chefs including Mark Peel, Nancy Silverton, Jonathon Waxman, Roy Yamaguchi, Joe Miller, Gordon Naccorato and Ken Frank. Michael McCarty, also known as the godfather of California cuisine, trained Tim to be his chef de cuisine. Tim began his corporate cooking experience with Marriott Management Services in 1995 as an executive chef. He became Chef/General Manager at Bugle Boy Industries where his duties included Cooking private lunches for owner, Dr. William Mow. From September of 2000 until May 2007 Tim had been an invaluable member of the management team at Amgen. Tim developed menus and concepts for The Marketplace Café, The Ridge Cafe, Perk Place Coffee Shop and Creative Juice fresh juice and smoothie shop. He also operated the Oasis Café and catering department for 3 years. In June of 2007 Tim moved to Denver and assumed the Director of Catering duties at DU.
Lisa Gullikson - Phipps Catering Manager
Lisa Gullikson a native of Colorado began her career in the hospitality industry with Service Systems Associates at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs over seventeen years ago. While there she began as the Food and Beverage Manager and worked her way up to General Manager over seeing the concessions, catering and retail programs for the zoo. In 1999 she relocated to Denver to help open up the Pepsi Center with Levy Restaurants where she served as the Director of Catering. While there she was responsible for the catering coordination of several high profile events including the 2005 NBA and 2001 NHL All-Star Games, the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals, NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball and the Grand Prix of Denver just to name a few. In 2007 she was requested by Levy Restaurants to help open up The O2 arena in London where she was responsible for setting up the food and beverage program for their VIP Suites program. In the summer of 2008 Lisa served as the Director of Food and Beverage for the Democratic National Convention Committee and was responsible for all aspects of food and beverage for the Committee at Pepsi Center and Invesco Field. Lisa has recently joined the team at Phipps Catering as our Catering Manager.
