How do I place my order?
Please contact the Phipps event planner at 303.871.4621, who will assist you with all of the details pertaining to your event. To reserve space please contact the appropriate party at http://www.du.edu/events/.
How far in advance to the event do I need to place my order?
The more lead time you provide the better chance we will be available for your event. Phipps Catering requires placing your order 10 business days in advance of your event. Late orders will be considered based upon availability.
When is my guest guarantee count due?
Guest counts are due 5 business days prior to your event.
When is my payment due?
In order to guarantee services, payment must be secured prior to the event. Credit card, checks and University Department budget numbers are valid payment methods. For non-University related groups, pre-payment is required on all contracts. A deposit of 75% of the total contract value will be required a minimum 30 days in advance of the first function. The final 25% remaining balance due shall be paid in full 72 business hours (Monday – Friday) prior to the start of the function.
What services are included in your catering fees?
Planning, Setup, Food, Non Alcoholic Beverages, Service, Cake Cutting Fee, Standard Linens, China, Delivery & Breakdown. Additional charges will be applied to carvers, bartenders or any special service requests.
What additional services are available?
Our event planner would be happy to assist you in enhancing your event by arranging with florists, specialty linens or ice carvings. Additional charges will be applied.
Do you have a service charge?
We have an 18% service charge applied to all food and beverage.
What is your minimum order?
A minimum order of $150.00 for food and beverage per meal period. The balance will be added to smaller orders.
What do I do if I need to cancel my order?
Contact the Phipps event planner by email at phippscatering@du.edu 5 business days prior to your event.
You will be liable for 100% for your bill for late notification.
Is there a way to taste the meal I want to order before ordering?
Tastings can be arranged through our sales office. Tastings for 2 people will be charged $30.00. If you book with Phipps Catering, this fee will be deducted from your bill.
Are we limited to what is on the menu?
Our experience culinary team can customize a menu to meet your exacting standards.
What is your alcohol policy?
We are happy to assist you in ordering and arranging for the delivery of your alcohol: however, because caterers are by Colorado law prohibited from selling alcohol, the vendor will invoice you directly. It is the client's responsibility to remove all alcohol at the conclusion of the event.
